1:00 pm - Mrs. C. Estrada communicates that they are about 30 minutes away. I can hear the background noise; students seem to be enjoying themselves so far. Group should arrive at 1:30 and have lunch as soon as they arrive. I will give updates as they come in.
1:30 pm - Arrived at Forest Glen. Had cheese or pepperoni pizza, salad and a brownie, and flavored water for lunch.
2:45 pm - Started activities - hotair balloons, micro study and pioneer life. As per teachers, students are learning and having a good time. They showed a lot of excitement when they entered the lodge.
4:30 pm - Will give more updates as they come in.
9:00 pm - Finished with the night hike....Students taking a shower and getting ready to sleep. (Will give more updates tomorrow morning.)
10:00 am - As per Mrs. Anita Gomez, students did really well last night. This morning they went to breakfast and had a choice of sausage, eggs, pancakes, cereal, oatmeal, and fruit. They had milk and/or orange juice to drink. Students are allowed to choose anything and everything they want to eat. They are currently working on habitats, predator/prey, and fish study.
2:30 pm - As per Mrs. J. Estrada, students had chicken burgers, chips, salad bar, flavored water or tea, and ice cream for lunch. They are working on their afternoon activities: orienteering, teambuilding, and entomology. Everyone is enjoying the different activities.
9:30 am - as per Mrs. J. Estrada, students had eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, hashbrowns, fruit bar, and choice of juice, milk, or flavored water. They will start with the activities today with canoeing (students were given safety rules and life jackets). The students are very excited. Mrs. J. Estrada mentioned that the students had no trouble falling asleep the night before because they are really busy - they had a Gaga ball/Dodge ball tournement with a twist the previous night. The other groups will be working on archery and reptiles/amphibians. They will check in again after departure from Forest Glen.
3:00 pm - as per Mrs. C. Estrada - departed from Forest Glen at about 2:15. Bus was about 30 miles away from Houston at 3:00 so they should be arriving to San Antonio at about 6:30. Students will stop in San Antonio for dinner at a McDonald's and should start on their way home between 7:30 and 8:00 pm. If this is the case they should arrive at Armando Cerna at about 10:00 pm. Will post again later to give you a better time of arrival.
